Faculty Departmental Recognition Awards

University Awards

The Distinguished Teaching Award is a prestigious award bestowed upon up to five members of the Academic Senate, three non-Senate faculty members, and three graduate students at UC San Diego each year. The Distinguished Teaching Award was created because UC San Diego faculty recognize the important role excellent teaching plays at the University.

    Distinguished Teaching Award for Graduate Students

The Earl Warren College Outstanding Faculty Teaching award is determined by graduating seniors who can respond anonymously. The award is presented at the annual college commencement ceremony.

Graduate Faculty Teaching Award 

The Department awards two annual prizes for the best graduate teaching in a core class and in an advanced elective. The recipients are selected by a committee comprised of graduate student representatives.

Undergraduate Faculty Teaching Award

The Department awards annual prizes for the best undergraduate teaching. The recipients are selected by a committee comprised of the department chair and past awardees.
