Giving Back
As a UC San Diego alum, you no doubt have benefited from your UCSD degree and you understand the value of higher education. Your gift, no matter how large or small, enhances the power and reach of our alumni each year.
Giving back is a unique opportunity because, for the first time on campus, a special fund has been established to help numerous initiatives and programs that directly support the students and faculty of the Department of Economics. Your gift to the Economics Department Innovation Fund will enable our faculty and students to take advantage of unique opportunities that have no other sources of funding. These initiatives include:
-
Programs for supporting creative undergraduate research projects, allowing honors students the opportunity to conduct extensive research under the mentorship of faculty and graduate students, and to enable top students to participate in national research competitions;
-
Fostering the new Undergraduate Economics Society, created last year by economics students and faculty for the purpose of networking, facilitating collaboration, and developing an alumni-student mentorship program;
-
Internships at local businesses or government agencies to provide undergraduate students applied business experience to complement the the Department curriculum; and
-
Establishing Research Centers to support and promote research in specific fields and, in particular, those that are of great importance to the region.
UC San Diego's Department of Economics produces individuals who take on important social challenges and who work to solve the most complicated economic puzzles. With your support, these remarkable people will become the leaders who improve the future for us all.
To give back, please visit UC San Diego Online Giving, and select Social Sciences as the area and Economics as the fund in Step 1 on the Gift Designation page.
