Microeconomic Theory

The Microeconomics Research group in the Department of Economics has specialists in individual decision making under uncertainty, general equilibrium theory, game theory, and behavioral economics. Current research projects include the development of game-theoretic models of contracting, studies of the role of money in general equilibrium, experimental studies of altruisms, and the play of games by boundedly rational agents. The projects have applications to law, political science, and decision theory.

Members of the group collaborate with each other, members of other research groups in the department, and with economists, psychologists, political scientists, legal scholars, and computer scientists. Four members of the group are Fellows of the Econometric Society, three members are members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, three have won Guggenheim Foundation fellowships, and two have won Sloan Foundation Fellowships. Several members have current research funded by the National Science Foundation.
