Launching Economics Students into Successful Careers

The Economics Industry Engagement Program connects UC San Diego Economics students with the alumni, mentors, and professional networks they need to start their careers.

Launched in Spring 2022, the program offers guided resources and networking opportunities for students interested in engaging with our professional community.

Our Program Helps Students:

  • Explore: Access a curated pipeline of job and internship opportunities in high-growth industries, including finance, consulting, and data analytics.
  • Connect: Engage with a network of experienced alumni, professionals, and peers for industry insights and mentorship.
  • Thrive: Utilize guided resources and group support to align their skills and interests with long-term career goals.

Your Career Roadmap Your path is your own, and it's okay if you're still figuring things out or following a different timeline than your peers. Whether you are a first-year student or a recent transfer, use this sample timeline as a flexible guide to maximize your experience at UC San Diego:
  • Years 1 & 2: Explore & Build. Start joining student organizations, leading projects, attending networking events, and securing your first summer internships.
  • Years 3 & 4: Experience & Launch. Refine your career goals, sharpen your interviewing skills, and establish direct connections with employers.
