Undergraduate Travel Grant

The Department of Economics, in conjunction with the Economics Leadership Council, is excited to announce a new program to fund developmental opportunities for undergraduate student. The Undergraduate Student Travel Grant is available for students who have been selected to present a paper at a research conference or students who would like to attend other academic events that have been approved by a Department of Economics Faculty member.

How to Apply

Submit the following documents to Undergraduate Advising in Sequoyah Hall, Room 245

  • Completed application including a faculty member's signature of support
  • Invitation to present a paper or other relevant documentation of participation
  • Itemized estimate of the cost to participate (such as conference fees, transportation, and hotel expenses)

Conditions

  • Only one grant per academic year will be will be awarded per student
  • Grants will cover up to 100% of allowable expenses costs up to a maximum of $1,500.00
  • Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher is required
  • Recipients must submit a written summary (min. 500 words) recounting the experience within 30 calendar days*
  • Allowable expenses include transportation costs, hotel, and conference registration fees
