Please send a "Question" to "Economics" using the Virtual Advising Center (VAC) and write the advisor's name at the beginning of your message. All student advising meetings, including drop ins, are conducted remotely via Zoom.
Economics Advising does not offer drop-in hours at this time. All advising services are now provided remotely by appointment only to allow for more comprehensive, long-term academic planning and personalized support.
Students with quick questions about enrollment, courses, or major/minor requirements should submit their inquiries through the Virtual Advising Center (VAC).
For more in-depth topics—such as four-year plans, study abroad, or graduate school preparation—students should schedule a remote long-term planning appointment with an advisor through the VAC.
We appreciate your understanding as we transition to this appointment-based model designed to better support students’ academic success.
If you are unable to resolve your questions or concerns with our Econ advisors, you may attend office hours with the Faculty Director of Student Advising (FDSA), Professor Emanual Vespa. You can make an appointment with him here. Once you have scheduled an appointment, Prof. Vespa will contact you. You will be given the choice of meeting in person or via Zoom when he does.
If you are unable to resolve your questions or concerns with our Econ advisors and the FDSA, you may e-mail the Vice Chair of Undergraduate Education, Tom Vogl. You can contact him via this email: econugvicechair@ucsd.edu
Please note that all registered students must use VAC to contact Economics Advising. Incoming students must use the New Triton Advising (NTA) portal.
Individuals without VAC access may contact the Economics Undergraduate Advising Office via econugadvisor@ucsd.edu.
